My purpose for studying Counselling for Professional Development MA at The University of Derby UK, is that I have had a desire for 20 years to research the phenomena of Spiritual Abuse, from which I am a survivor.
I am investigating this common experience because it is little researched or understood, and victims often are not believed. Over the years, I have heard many peoples stories and it still makes me so sad to think that this is happening within an institution which is supposed be be loving & caring.
Spiritual abuse is real abuse and often thought to be limited to sects or cults and not generally viewed as a problem within the Christian community.
Therefore, to raise awareness of the problem and to help those who are suffering I offer my experience & help for your recovery.
